Self-Assessment: High Risk Pregnancy

“High-risk” is a term used to identify pregnancies which are known to be at higher-than-average risk for complications involving either the unborn baby, the mother, or both. There are a variety conditions that can lead to a pregnancy being high-risk. Some of these are brought into the pregnancy and some occur during the pregnancy. Likewise, some of these risk factors can be optimized or treated while others are unalterable.
